Testing in One of Dhaka's Most Polluted Water Bodies

We believe that the best way to build confidence in our technology is to test it in real world conditions. Instead of limiting our development to controlled environments, we choose challenging locations that truly evaluate the performance and reliability of our systems.

One such location is Hatirjheel, one of the most polluted urban water bodies in Dhaka. The water is highly turbid, filled with suspended waste, algae, and debris making underwater visibility extremely poor. These conditions create a demanding environment for underwater robotics and provide an ideal testing ground for validating system performance.

To take on this challenge, Dubotech, in collaboration with Bangladesh Maritime University (BMU), jointly developed and tested the TUNA 2.0 underwater vehicle. The trials focused on evaluating the platform's maneuverability, stability, communication and overall operational performance in a difficult real-world environment.

The successful testing of TUNA 2.0 in Hatirjheel showcase the platform's ability to operate in challenging water conditions while also validating the engineering approach behind its design. This collaboration also show our commitment to working with academic institutions to advance underwater robotics and strengthen Bangladesh's capabilities in maritime technologies.
